Pledge to Train

The Movement started in 2025 to encourage the community to take the Pledge to Train.

Our Mission: Empower 2,025 Black men and women to take control of their safety through self-defense and handgun training.  Continuing the pledge in 2026; we want to encourage the community to commit to Train.

At MTBGC, we are committed to equipping the Black community with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to protect themselves and their loved ones. Together, we can create a safer and more empowered future.

The Movement: Pledge to Train

Why This Initiative Matters
The "Join the Movement: Pledge to Train" is more than just a call to action, it’s a mission to empower, educate, and protect our communities. In the face of rising concerns around safety and self-reliance, this initiative was created to ensure that the Black community is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our shared legacy. Far too often, our community is disproportionately affected by violence and systemic challenges, leaving us vulnerable. By prioritizing training, education, and awareness, we are building a culture of preparedness, confidence, and unity.

Our Goal

In 2025, we pledged to train 2,025 individuals from the Black community in self-defense, firearm safety, and handgun fundamentals. That commitment sparked something greater, a movement of accountability, empowerment, and protection within our community.

As we enter 2026, our mission continues!
We remain dedicated to equipping our community with the knowledge, discipline, and confidence needed to protect themselves and their families. Through consistent, responsible, and hands-on training, we aim to strengthen not only skills but also mindset; one rooted in preparedness, respect, and leadership.

Our goal this year is simple:
To continue building a culture of safety, awareness, and empowerment, where every individual understands that training is not a one-time event, it’s a lifelong commitment.

Train for yourself. Train for your family. Train for your community.
Together, we protect what matters most.

Why Training is Important
Firearm training and self-defense education aren’t just about learning how to handle a weapon; they’re about cultivating confidence, awareness, and the ability to make informed decisions in moments of crisis. For generations, the Black community has faced unique threats, including racial violence, unequal access to resources, and a lack of proper representation in firearm education spaces. This initiative bridges that gap, offering training that is culturally relevant and accessible to individuals from all walks of life.

When we train, we are no longer bystanders or victims. We take control of our safety, create a stronger sense of security within our homes, and contribute to a culture of empowerment. Together, we are breaking stigmas, reclaiming our narratives, and building a community that is confident and capable of protecting itself.

Take the Pledge
By joining the Pledge to Train, you’re not just signing up for classes, you’re becoming part of a movement. A movement that prioritizes safety, community, and progress. Whether you’re a first-time firearm owner, a seasoned gun enthusiast, or someone simply seeking knowledge, this initiative welcomes you. Together, let’s make this a year of empowerment, education, and unity.

Are you ready to take the pledge? Let’s train, protect, and lead together!
