Join the Movement: 2025 Pledge to Train

By participating in the 2025 Pledge to Train initiative, you (the “Participant”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions, which outline your rights, responsibilities, and obligations in relation to this program. Please read these terms carefully before proceeding.

1. Program Purpose
The purpose of the 2025 Pledge to Train initiative is to provide self-defense and handgun training to 2,025 members of the Black community in 2025. The program focuses on empowering participants with firearm safety, self-defense, and community-building skills.

2. Participant Eligibility

Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Participants must complete any necessary paperwork, including liability waivers and program registration forms, prior to attending training sessions.

This initiative is open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced firearm users.

Participants must not be prohibited by law from owning or handling firearms.

3. Registration and Fees
-
All participants must complete the registration process for their selected training sessions.

Training fees, if applicable, must be paid in full before attending sessions. No refunds will be provided for missed sessions unless otherwise stated in the refund policy.

Discounts, promotional codes, or scholarships must be applied at the time of registration and cannot be applied retroactively.

4. Attendance Requirements

Participants agree to arrive on time for all scheduled training sessions.

Participants must bring the required items, such as valid identification, personal firearms (if applicable), ammunition, and any additional items outlined in the training session details.

Inappropriate, disruptive, or unsafe behavior will result in removal from the program, without a refund.
5. Assumption of Risk and Liability
-
Participants acknowledge that firearm training and self-defense activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, property damage, or emotional stress.

By participating, the Participant assumes all risks associated with the program and releases MTBGC (Middle Tennessee Black Gun Club), its trainers, staff, and affiliates from any liability arising from their participation.
6. Waiver of Liability

Participants are required to sign a liability waiver prior to attending any training sessions.

Failure to complete and sign the waiver will result in the forfeiture of registration, and no refunds will be issued.
7. Code of Conduct
To ensure a safe and supportive environment, participants must adhere to the following:

Treat all instructors, staff, and fellow participants with respect.

Follow all safety instructions and program guidelines.
-
Refrain from any behavior that endangers the safety of others.
Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in removal from the program without refund.
8. Use of Personal Firearms

If Participants bring their own firearms to training sessions, they must:

Ensure their firearms are unloaded and safely stored until instructed otherwise by the trainer.

Comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding firearm ownership and transportation.

If using a program-provided firearm, Participants agree to treat it with care and follow all usage instructions.
9. Media and Publicity Release
-
By participating in the program, Participants grant MTBGC permission to use photos, videos, or testimonials for promotional purposes.

If Participants do not wish to appear in promotional materials, they must inform MTBGC in writing prior to their session.
10. Refund and Cancellation Policy
-
Participants may cancel and receive a full refund if cancellation is made at least 7 days prior to the scheduled training session.

Cancellations made within 3-6 days prior to the event are eligible for a 50% refund.
-
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made 2 days or less before the session or for failure to attend.

Participants may transfer their registration to a future event within 90 days, subject to availability.
11. Data Privacy
-
Any personal information collected during registration will be used solely for program purposes, including communication about events, training sessions, and updates.

MTBGC will not share or sell Participant information to third parties without explicit consent.
12. Changes to Program or Terms
-
MTBGC reserves the right to modify training schedules, locations, or course content if necessary.
-
Participants will be notified of any significant changes in advance.
-
MTBGC reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time, with updates effective immediately upon posting.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of Tennessee.
14. Acknowledgment and Agreement
By registering for the 2025 Pledge to Train initiative, Participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
Acceptance
To proceed with registration, all Participants must click “I Agree” or sign a physical acknowledgment form agreeing to these terms.
